All The Bleeps Techno Vinyl Box Set // World News Black Cat
Aaaaaaaaarrrrrgghhhh!!!!!!!
Today has arrived and marks the release of the All The Bleeps 4xLP techno box set. We're even more excited now than we were when we found out that World News' Black Cat had been selected to close the compilation. Other worldly indeed.
The box set marks the 500th episode of Bleep Radio, or Bleep 500, which is the brain child of Trevor Wilkes (AKA Fun in the Murky). Kudos to Trevor for supporting the thriving local scenes here with such verve and passion to make it to 500 shows. Our hats are well and truly dipped to you, great sir.
So what about this ruddy box set then?! Well it features tracks from techno wizards such as Sane, Jerome Hill, Neil Landstrum, Joe Farr and many more. To have Black Cat find a home amongst this crowd of names is, to put it lightly, fucking awesome.
But what can you expect when you drop your trusty record player needle? Let's just say you had better be wearing your dancing shoes — and make sure you bring a spare pair of insoles — because when the beat drops it's relentless. Listen on SoundCloud.
~ AN INFERNO OF TECHNO ~
Perhaps this is where World News belonged from the off? Perhaps this is a sign of things to come? Perhaps I should calm down and have a good cup of tea? Everyone should calm down with a good cup of tea.
Interested in purchasing one of these beauties for yourself? Why the hell wouldn't you... they're proper wicked fam! Various options to do just that can be found here.
Manifest my friends, and push the creative envelope wherever you can.
In The Spotlight
THE iNDiE MACHiNE did a label feature on Safe Sounds earlier this week - you can check it out here.
We're really lucky to have great people in the local Toronto scene supporting artists, labels and releases, so head over there and check out what iNDiE MACHiNE has to say because there's a ton of great music being produced right now!!
You can also follow their Safe Sounds playlist on Spotify if you want to help boost the algorithms, cos hell, that's why we all do this right?!
Peace, earth and outer space.
World News Soundcloud Explodes Into Life
"World News Wednesdays" they're calling it. We were confused why, but then the pair explained that they'll be releasing improvised electronic music moments of all shapes and sizes to SoundCloud every Wednesday.
So far they are keeping well to their promise, and this week released a popping little ditty labelled TSBCMMVVI02.
What sort of instruments can you expect to hear? Synthesizers and drum machines of course.

Theo Vandenhoff Music Video Premiere
Theo Vandenhoff has just released the debut music video for post-punk single, Heartache Is An Empty Room. It is premiering now exclusively via Toronto Guardian... watch it here!
The track is taken from Theo's debut EP of the same name, which was released via Safe Sounds earlier this month and is available digitally and on strictly limited cassette, so grab one while you still can!
The reception for the EP has been incredible, so thank you to everyone for streaming the tracks and showing Theo the love and support his music deserves.
A few highlights from the month so far include this wonderful EP review by Soft Sound Press, Xposed Polaroid's in-depth interview with Theo, iNDiE MACHiNE's writeup of the debut single, and ULTRA mag's feature — Toronto's best independent scene zine — which is available to read digitally or you can purchase a physical copy from their website.
Also, a big thank you to Toronto Guardian for premiering the music video and providing a place to showcase independent artists and musicians in Toronto. With the world as it is, we finally want to thank you, the listeners, for supporting this release and making it such an epic time.
More news soon. X

One of the many highlights from the session was their new single ANIMA, performed with grit and psychedelic nerve-tingling electricity. It is now available to stream at your leisure via the Safe Sounds YouTube Channel.
