Toronto Music Scene Documentary - Screening and VIP Q&A!
Have you heard about No Tickets At The Door? It's the ultimate Toronto music scene documentary; a film by Danny Alexander that explores the ups and downs of musicians and the venues that serve them in our local community.
No Tickets At The Door features renowned underground rockers like Sook-Yin Lee, Dan Burke, Luna Li, Vypers and many more including our very own World News and Idious Carrie (of Kali Horse).
The documentary has been making waves since its premiere at Hot Docs cinema, and this Thursday 10th June 2021 at 7PM will be streamed online, co-presented by Wavelength Music Series and Exclaim! The screening will be followed by a Q&A panel featuring Idious Carrie.
No Tickets At The Door examines the importance of music communities in the modern age and what is at stake if a city is no longer hospitable towards them. It gives the audience a chance to meet the talented indie musicians, promoters and venues that are fighting to survive and persevere amid the ongoing lockdown and the overwhelming effects of gentrification.
The documentary will be streaming online this Thursday 10th June 2021 at 7PM. RSVP here or browse the links below for more information.

All The Bleeps Techno Vinyl Box Set // World News Black Cat
Aaaaaaaaarrrrrgghhhh!!!!!!!
Today has arrived and marks the release of the All The Bleeps 4xLP techno box set. We're even more excited now than we were when we found out that World News' Black Cat had been selected to close the compilation. Other worldly indeed.
The box set marks the 500th episode of Bleep Radio, or Bleep 500, which is the brain child of Trevor Wilkes (AKA Fun in the Murky). Kudos to Trevor for supporting the thriving local scenes here with such verve and passion to make it to 500 shows. Our hats are well and truly dipped to you, great sir.
So what about this ruddy box set then?! Well it features tracks from techno wizards such as Sane, Jerome Hill, Neil Landstrum, Joe Farr and many more. To have Black Cat find a home amongst this crowd of names is, to put it lightly, fucking awesome.
But what can you expect when you drop your trusty record player needle? Let's just say you had better be wearing your dancing shoes — and make sure you bring a spare pair of insoles — because when the beat drops it's relentless. Listen on SoundCloud.
~ AN INFERNO OF TECHNO ~
Perhaps this is where World News belonged from the off? Perhaps this is a sign of things to come? Perhaps I should calm down and have a good cup of tea? Everyone should calm down with a good cup of tea.
Interested in purchasing one of these beauties for yourself? Why the hell wouldn't you... they're proper wicked fam! Various options to do just that can be found here.

World News Soundcloud Explodes Into Life
"World News Wednesdays" they're calling it. We were confused why, but then the pair explained that they'll be releasing improvised electronic music moments of all shapes and sizes to SoundCloud every Wednesday.
So far they are keeping well to their promise, and this week released a popping little ditty labelled TSBCMMVVI02.
What sort of instruments can you expect to hear? Synthesizers and drum machines of course.
