Up Against the Wall Video Premiere at Psychedelic Baby Magazine
In our book, this isn't just any other Monday. Not at all. Why? Well of course.... it's the day that World News rise again, this time with a sparkling new music video for Up Against the Wall which is taken from the duo's New Era EP.
Yes, the great people over at Psychedelic Baby Mag, which is a killer place for independent music reviews and good stuff, are hosting the premiere — go watch it now.
You'll not want to miss this.... Up Against the Wall features Quentin Mitchell on a journey into an underground sub-universe littered with curious beings.
It was filmed and directed by Sam Maloney, who many will know as the guitarist and vocalist of psychedelic rock band, Kali Horse. Well she is also a talented filmmaker with a unique approach and vision; often using analogue cameras, Maloney has produced videos for some of Canada's most exciting up-and-coming talent such as Roy, Dart Mouth, Drago Dit Dragon and No Frills.
This track is taken from the New Era EP [SS116], which is available to stream everywhere. It was engineered by Tobin Hopwood (Possum) at The Oscillitarium, mixed/produced by Josh Korody (Breeze, Nailbiter) at Candle Recording Studios and mastered by Asher Gould-Murtagh (Mr. Joy, Zones).
We would like to take a minute to shout out the extended cast for World News' Up Against the Wall — Adam Hanrahan, Cassandra Ellen, Desiree Das Gupta, Julie Sullivan, Olivia Cox, Ryan Bembridge and Sinéad Bermingham. This would not have been possible without you.
So yeah, what are you waiting for, check out the video now!
Psychedelic Baby Chat Scenic Equilibrium with Provincial Parcs
Provincial Parcs, AKA multi-disciplined musician and visual artist Rob Nicholls, sat down with Klemen Breznikar of Psychedelic Baby Magazine to discuss the debut album, Scenic Equilibrium.
It's a really interesting insight into the artistic process ~
"I’m a working visual artist as well as a musician and I spend the majority of my time painting in my studio. Some days I just bounce back and forth between painting and composing, both practices can inform one another, like the colour palette of a painting and its overall mood can inspire a noisy, windy sounding synth pad. It’s a pleasant exchange."
