To celebrate the vinyl release of Bill Cutbill's debut LP, AMAZONAS, Safe Sounds has curated a very special event...
The show will open with a performance from Safe Sounds' Idious Carrie (lead singer of psychedelic rock masters, Kali Horse) followed by an acoustic set from the enigmatic Kiss Kali Die Die (lead singer of the acclaimed punk band, Bad Waitress).
Bill Cutbill will then transport you to the Amazon rainforests of Brazil for a very special one-off performance of AMAZONAS in full, featuring the recorded sounds of the jungle alongside compositions for guitar, synth and piano. Featuring the poetry and stories from his month long stay in South America alongside backing band, the Schmoozy Lighters (Desiree Das Gupta, Quentin Mitchell).
Idious Carrie's 9 Lives In Technicolor
9 Lives is an energetic missile of a track, taken from Idious Carrie's debut double-a release "O". This heavy rock ballad marks the start of Carrie's solo journey, who is well known in the Toronto music scene as a leading voice in psychedelic rock powerhouse Kali Horse.
The music video for 9 Lives is a work of art by The Oscillitarium and stars Idious amid a mass of colours that fizz and whirl in every direction. The lush organic tones of the music have been paired perfectly courtesy of the movie magic of Sarah Bassakyros, Sophia Bassakyros and Tobin Hopwood. The set was designed with help from Unfazed Floral's incredible flower arrangements.
Check out the video above or head over to Ultra Tube now! We love it and we're sure you will too.

Idious Carrie 'O' is Everywhere now!
Idious Carrie's O (SS112) is now available to stream everywhere!
"O, as the letter implies, is a container of... multitudes, a lens to peer through — but it’s also a bending of time, the future reaching back to commune with the past, recognizing itself within itself. Through it, Idious Carrie retrieves the resilient, unbroken thread holding together her life despite the chaos: ‘Into the rest of time / You’ll find me alright.’”
Go give it a listen on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, or alternatively search for Idious Carrie on your preferred platform.
Idious Carrie's Road to 'O'
Idious Carrie has joined the media merry-go-round ahead of the release of her debut double A single, 'O', which arrives worldwide tomorrow!
Havin' a Chat is a podcast by Alex Spears; a lovely chap who held a really beautiful conversation with Idious, giving a unique insight into the inspiration behind the two tracks that make up the release (9 Lives and The World as a Loose Garment).
We've embedded the podcast episode for your listening pleasure, so get your ears around that but... if that leaves you with a thirst for more... don't worry that soft little head of yours because more is on the way!
ULTRA (your favourite local scene zine) will be premiering 9 Lives on their brand spanking new radio show which aires from 6pm tonight (Friday 11th June) via trueconnection.fm. You can also read a fantastic article on Idious Carrie's release in the latest issue of ULTRA Mag. Thanks to Marko Cindric for his articulate words about the release.
Well there you go! Don't sleep on it - grab yourself a cup of tea and immerse yourself in the Tkaronto arts scene.
