Electronic Pop Returns with RUM DO's No Worries
We are delighted to share RUM DO's new single No Worries with the world.
You won't want to miss this funky track, which features Harry Perry's most infectious bass-line ever, brought about from a first time collaboration with epic drummer Bradley Thibodeau (of Possum and Ready The Prince).
No Worries is the debut single from RUM DO's third EP — You Just Have To Be [SS118], which will be trickling to you track by track until its full release in April 2023.
Talking about the origins of the single, Bill Cutbill of RUM DO said —
"When writing the lyrics for No Worries I was very consciously trying to channel something which threw away my normal melancholy outlook and focused more on the positives.
"During the pandemic, I was searching for an inner sense of peace by meditating musically on the thought of it; what that might feel like and sound like. These were the bones on which the track was built.
"It was fantastic to work with Brad because he added an infectious shuffle that immediately gave it more purpose rhythmically. I really hope listening to No Worries also fires off some serotonin in your brain because for me it really does emit a feeling of warmth, peace and relaxation!"
Listen on Spotify now and make sure you follow RUM DO so that the lords and ladies in the emerald Spotify castle know to inform you every time there's a new track out! We appreciate your support.

Bill Cutbill will then transport you to the Amazon rainforests of Brazil for a very special one-off performance of AMAZONAS in full, featuring the recorded sounds of the jungle alongside compositions for guitar, synth and piano. Featuring the poetry and stories from his month long stay in South America alongside backing band, the Schmoozy Lighters (Desiree Das Gupta, Quentin Mitchell).
Your Grandad Is Here To Slay!
Today is the momentous day that local heroes Your Grandad celebrate their debut Safe Sounds release.
The Double-A single 'Juice Opinion / Fake News' (SS113) is a hard-hitting two track wonder featuring the angular guitars of William O'Neill, the unfathomable drumming of Max Scheffel and the funky bass of Cameron Kirk. On top of that, there's some good old fashioned singing to top it all off.
We're sure you'll agree that the sound of this Toronto post-punk trio just gets more refined as time passes. These two tracks were recorded by Stephen Pitman and mastered by Brent O'Toole, with album art by Jaymie Flis.
Go throw em a bone by downloading the tracks via their Bandcamp. You can also pre-order a limited edition cassette of this release too... it's an investment sure to double, triple or quadruple in value as the band shoot to international stardom... not that you'll ever consider selling it... some things are priceless; drowning in memories and wrapped up with tangible feelings of a bygone age. Yes, even as a grandad yourself, we guarantee you'll be sitting in a chair clutching that cassette, tears dripping down your chit onto your walking stick.
Speaking of old times, have you seen Your Grandad's epic bank vault sessions from back in 2020? If not you should go and check those out after listening to the new stuff, because you get to see them in all of their black-and-white glory!
Idious Carrie 'O' is Everywhere now!
Idious Carrie's O (SS112) is now available to stream everywhere!
"O, as the letter implies, is a container of... multitudes, a lens to peer through — but it’s also a bending of time, the future reaching back to commune with the past, recognizing itself within itself. Through it, Idious Carrie retrieves the resilient, unbroken thread holding together her life despite the chaos: ‘Into the rest of time / You’ll find me alright.’”
Go give it a listen on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, or alternatively search for Idious Carrie on your preferred platform.
World News Soundcloud Explodes Into Life
"World News Wednesdays" they're calling it. We were confused why, but then the pair explained that they'll be releasing improvised electronic music moments of all shapes and sizes to SoundCloud every Wednesday.
So far they are keeping well to their promise, and this week released a popping little ditty labelled TSBCMMVVI02.
What sort of instruments can you expect to hear? Synthesizers and drum machines of course.
