It's Christmas Time And You Need To Be Afraid
This Friday is A CLASSMAS CAROL which is a huge night of entertainment with a mega lineup of bands and comedians.
Bad Waitress, members of which you may have seen at our recent Geary Art Crawl showcase, will be rocking alongside Burner, Waste Youth and our very own, World News.
What is CLASS? Well here's what they have to say for themselves...
"Leave some cookies and cheap smokes out a few weeks earlier this year, because CLASS is racing down the chimney of The Garrison for A CLASSMAS Carol on December 8th.
We’ve spewed eggnog everywhere, stolen Frosty’s magical hat, and banned Rudolph from participating in any reindeer games. Have we lost the true meaning of the holidays?
Will Deshaun turn into Santa Tim Allen style? Come help Fezenezer Scrooge and The CLASS crew rediscover the spirit of the season, and rock out to a stocking over stuffed with music, stand up comedy, and art. Bah Humbug, I just sat in some hot cocoa."
Comedy will be served hot thanks to Ryan Dillon, Sima Sepehri, Sam Burns and Kari Johnson

Breeze Is A Heart Attack Waiting To Happen
There has been so much Safe Sounds stuff happening of late, and were stoked to tell you the year is just getting started... well kind of!
Toronto band Breeze dropped by the bank vault recently to perform two tracks from their upcoming record, 'Sour Grapes'.
We're stoked to share the first of them with you today — Heart Attack Waiting To Happen is a new wave Britpop anthem. Watch it now.
Originally a solo project led by Toronto-based producer Josh Korody who has worked with the likes of Tess Parks, Dilly Dally, Fucked Up, Weaves, Dirty Nil, Beliefs, Breeze has evolved into a full band with the addition of Braeden Craig, James Kearns, Robyn Phillips and Julia Wittmann.
Heart Attack Waiting To Happen has already been released as a single from the Sour Grapes LP, which will arrive in its entirety later this year via Hand Drawn Dracula.
This session was recorded and filmed in downtown Toronto here at Safe Sounds inside a real disused bank vault.
We've got a load of interesting content up there on our YouTube Channel so check out our previous live sessions and releases from Toronto favourites. Oh and if you could Subscribe that'd be great... it's like a modern day blood pact but on the internet and not involving blood.
As always keep your eyes peeled for more!

It's Album Release Day for Your Grandad
We’re excited and delighted to bring you Your Grandad’s self-titled debut album today! The nine songs on this record blend humour with sincerity, musical misdirection with good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll.
With a guitar, a bass, drums, vocals, and a cheeky Wurlitzer overdub, Your Grandad carve out a sonic territory far vaster and deeper than anything they’ve done before.
You’ll hear all three members — Cameron Kirk, William O'Neill and Max Sheffel — take turns singing lead vocals, with some tasty harmonies to boot. Expect all sorts of sounds; fun, abrasive, weird and normal.
Some of the tracks are danceable and some are decidedly not! We hope it sticks with you and you keep coming back year after year... as the kids get older you're going to need to make an honest effort to keep this love alive.
Luckily with Your Grandad being available on vinyl, you can grab a copy that will live forever and can be passed from generation to generation.
Here's a quote from the band —
“We’re very proud of this record, and we hope you enjoy it! We’d like to thank some people who helped get this record out there...
Stephen Pitman, who recorded and helped produce the recording. Shelby Wilson who provided vocals on Qualified Certified. Brandon Bak who mixed the album. Asher Gould-Murtagh who mastered it. Mitch Lohmeier who designed the artwork for the LP and all of its singles. Leesa Westwood and Richard Singh who helped design the liner notes.
Finally, Bill Cutbill and Desiree Das Gupta of Safe Sounds for helping us get it out there!”
Your Grandad is available NOW on all streaming platforms and for download via Bandcamp. Physical copies will also be available for sale at the upcoming live shows...
