Singularity: All Roads Lead Here
And just like that we announce 'Singularity,' the final single signalling the end of RUM DO.
Featuring guest violinist Leslie Townsend, Singularity is the light at the end of the tunnel for Bill Cutbill and rryrry — an orchestral electronic blend of epicness and timelessness.
In a press release the duo said:
"Our singularity is an A to B; a beginning and an end; a period of time held between two stationary points. Thank you for joining us."
Cutbill and rryrry started working together remotely in 2015 and in a period spanning what feels like many lifetimes they never once met in person. Desiree Das Gupta joined Cutbill to reimagine RUM DO's material live at Canadian venues and festivals. The duo also recorded a special live session of Wedding Day which is taken from the debut EP, lay down, lovers.
Thank you for everyone who bought a RUM DO cassette, went to a show, supported via bandcamp or listened on streaming. This music will remain online and we hope it helps to find you some peace and happiness.
Just as equal to the music, this also completes the RUM DO film which is a back-to-back continuous visual accompaniment to the entire discography. We will be releasing a full uncut version of the film before the end of the year.
Watch Toronto Psych Band Pretty Perform from the Vault
A long time ago in a bank vault far far away, Pretty performed a beautiful rendition of their track Worry and we filmed the entire thing.
Well today we have unleashed it upon the world.
When Pretty came to visit, they recorded two tracks, the first of which we released in July (check that here if you've not seen it already).
In between then and now, the group put out a brand new EP, Citrus Magic. It's four incredible tracks so check that out and join Pretty's universe.
We've got loads of exciting stuff coming before the end of the year including singles, music videos, albums (on wax) and live sessions... so watch this space!

It's Pretty Cool When a Psychedelic Five-Piece Rocks a Bank Vault
And just like that, a new record is set as five-piece Toronto psychedelic band, Pretty, join us for an intimate session in the Safe Sounds bank vault. Boom!
This one will tastily melt in your mouth like the death of a rich relative you barely even knew.
For a space just over 6ft x 6ft, we were a little apprehensive about fitting so many musicians in our walk-in safe, but the result speaks for itself... Inheritance is a lush psychedelic track performed here with folk instrumentation and tones that glue together cohesively. Thank hell for that!
Pretty is Torin Craig, Eliot Rossi, Will Macquarrie, Brian Heyes and Morgan Zych.
The band has made quite a name for themselves with a string of high quality, high impact releases. Their normal rock approach takes side-stage for this session as they replace the familiar electric instrumentation for acoustic and steel string guitars, bass, percussion and even an accordion.
Folking hell, it's pretty cool.
Check out the video now and visit the SS YouTube channel to subscribe and be notified with each new video. This isn't the only thing we've got coming from Pretty, plus they've also got a hot new EP which is due to drop July 28th 2023.
So mark your calendars, scrawl across your walls and dream about the future. It's pretty.
Idious Carrie Teams Up With RUM DO In New Music Video
The new music video for RUM DO's electronic pop single, Riv Alla Murar, is out now! Watch it above or on our YouTube channel.
Riv Alla Murar features guest vocals from Idious Carrie, AKA Desiree Das Gupta of Toronto psychedelic rock band Kali Horse.
The music video features RUM DO's classic combination of real-life footage, shaped and merged with digital visuals. Join them now to be taken on a transportive psychedelic trip and see if you can spot wild Indian elephants!
Speaking of the new single and music video, Bill Cutbill said -
"Never has a RUM DO track been so 50/50; it's almost two tracks in one."
"We begin by establishing a digital landscape with spiky textures which Idious Carrie's vocals flow softly over. The tension ramps up and up before it all falls out of the sky. After that, a janky classical guitar line takes hold."
"I'm very proud of the video, which comprises processed footage from my recent trip to India. As always a very special thank you to Idious Carrie for her contribution to the RUM DO legacy. I hope you enjoy!"
Riv Alla Murar is taken from RUM DO's third and final EP, You Just Have To Be. Stream it now or pick up a limited edition cassette via bandcamp.
